Warranty

Redback Boots are guaranteed for 6 months against manufacturing faults. The life of the boot is dependent on the type of use that the boot is exposed to. Well cared for examples can last ten years or more.

This warranty does not cover damage caused by excessive wear and tear or misuse. For example, if the end user is constantly kneeling down with the boot's toe rubbing against concrete or another abrasive surface and the leather covering the toe becomes damaged or wears through - this would not constitute a warranty claim as this would be classed as misuse. A further example of misuse would be if the end user is operating tools/machinery with their feet. If during this process, abrasion causes the stitching to be worn through, this would constitute misuse as opposed to a manufacturing defect.  Another example would be wearing these boots in concreate which have corroded the stitching and sole adhesives.

Redback boots are made from premium leathers but are not lined and therefore, they are not waterproof. We recommend keeping the leathers clean and waxed regularly, as this will minimise water ingress and prolong the life of your boots.

Certain types of damage e.g. that caused by exposure to corrosive materials/substances or by unreasonable abrasion will not be covered by the Redback warranty. Assessments are carried out at our discretion.

We can only process warranty claims for boots purchased directly from ourselves. For warranty claims for boots purchased from an alternative retailer please contact them directly.

Warranty is only valid when boots are purchased from an authorised Redback retailer. All product tags and labels must be left in situ unless otherwise instructed.  The small white tag within the pull tab is essential for any warranty claims as this can be linked back to your order.

Redbacks

Redback boots are sized to official UK sizing guidelines therefore, please order your normal UK size. Yes, the boots are "generously" proportioned to allow for the wearing of a thick pair of socks.

If you would like an extra wide fitting, then please select one of our half sizes, if available. So for example, if you are a UK size 10 but you require a slightly wider fit, then please select size 10.5. Each half size adds 5mm to the width of the boot but does not add length i.e. size 10.5 is wider than size 10 but it offers no additional length.

Mongrel Boots

These boots come up big so we recommend that you buy down a size.  The half size provides extra width not length.

Care and use

Redback Safety Boots

Your Redback Boots are craftsman made to Australian Standard AS/NZS2210.3.2009 Class 1 and are suitable for General Purpose Industrial and Agricultural use. The boots are certified by SAI Global. Redback subscribes to the Quality Assurance System, ISO9001, certified by Det Norske Veritas.

Redback TPU/PU Soles

Redback Boots have a hard wearing TPU outsole and light shock absorbing midsole. The wearer should note the following:

Heat: the maximum temperature the soles can be exposed to is 130°C for occasional contact and up to 110°C for prolonged contact.

Chemicals: Whilst your boots have good general oil resistance, exposure to strong acids and alkalis (>10% concentration ) should be avoided. (e.g. hydrochloric and sulfuric acid and caustic soda).

Any unauthorized alterations to footwear such as mechanical stretching or adding of vent holes are discouraged as it may:

  • take the footwear out of compliance with the applicable AS/NZS safety standard
  • void  warranty or certification of the footwear
  • reduce the effectiveness of the footwear

Care and Maintenance of your Redback Boots

To keep your Redback boots in good condition, the following is recommended:

  • Store your boots in well ventilated environments. Prolonged exposure to cold and damp, even if not in use, can catalyze the process of hydrolysis and can cause the boot's soles to crumble.
  • Do not force dry (e.g. on a radiator) and instead, dry at normal room temperature.
  • Regular cleaning is recommended with a damp cloth and when dry, apply silicon wax or natural polish, depending on the leather (the use of waxes or polishes may darken the leather). Nubuck or suede should be cleaned with a suede or Nubuck brush. Extra protection can be achieved by using a suede or nubuck protectant or waterproofing spray.
